Knowledge management requires consideration of three interrelated elements: people, processes, and technology. Most existing activities that focus on people or technology often end up excluding the other two. However, without thinking about the process—the way people, organizations, and even technology perform activities—any implementation of a knowledge management plan is risky at best and doomed to failure at worst. Many researchers have described new product development as a knowledge-centered process that, as products and technologies become increasingly complex, requires effective knowledge management. Many studies have been conducted on the effects of applying knowledge management on the new product development process. This study is an attempt to assist managers who are trying to innovate with a more process-based approach. Ultimately, the flourishing of knowledge management capabilities at the end of this project could be one of its effects. Thus, designing a product development knowledge management process model is essential for project-based organizations to remain competitive and efficient in dynamic environments. By absorbing and sharing knowledge, improving project delivery processes, increasing collaboration, reducing risks, and empowering innovation, organizations can achieve their goals and deliver successful projects. The method of conducting this research is qualitative-quantitative, which used expert interviews and theme analysis to conduct qualitative analysis, and the DEMATEL technique was used to observe the relationships between the parameters of the final model, and the relationship diagram between them was drawn accordingly. Based on the results of the expert interviews and the DEMATEL method, the model includes the following stages: knowledge identification and creation, product design knowledge acquisition, knowledge storage, application and exploitation, knowledge integration and evaluation, networking and sharing, product performance analysis, market and customer learning and analysis, product development and promotion.
